Without warning Ryan, Nathan, Jenni and Andy disappear from various parts of the globe without a trace. Four years later, their family members mysteriously learn they are living in a secret and isolated community in New Zealand called Two Gardens, led by a man called Edward North.

Two Gardens is an offshoot of the international organization Momentum, which offers its 20,000 strong membership personal and spiritual fulfilment and a sense of family and security in a world of disaffection.

In a run down but comfortable house called The Glen in the bush near Two Gardens, our liberators gather; Michael, a successful but jaded lawyer, Gina, an Australian receptionist from Sydney, Daniel a UK stock broker, Francis and Harris Seger a married couple from England who have brought Hugo an ex-SAS bodyguard, and Annabelle a doctor from Auckland.

They are all there to reclaim the loved ones they have lost - but it's not going to be easy. All members of Two Gardens have signed a legal document renouncing their families, friends and all contact with the outside world. And we soon see that Edward North is a powerful and charismatic leader who has created a paradise in Two Gardens.

When their first attempt at getting into the compound ends with; a car crash, Daniel missing, presumed taken by the compound, and Michael being attacked by a man carrying a body bag who tells him not to go to the police, the Liberators quickly become keenly aware of the difficulties in getting their family members back. But with the mysterious "Commencement" approaching - can the liberators rescue their loved ones before its too late?
