Real Escapes

Kiwi's seek a lifestyle change and a real estate dream in this eight part primetime TV One Series.
Maybe they're looking to move from the frenzy of the city to the peace of the country or perhaps that seaside bach to fulfill a family fantasy.
In Real Escapes we are with a family or couple for the entire journey, as they sell up their home and head off on their hunt for that magic property. But where is it - and how do they find it?
Enter Michael Boulgaris - real estate guru, deal broker, financial adviser and lifestyle exponent - who does everything in his powers to find the ideal slice of paradise. He draws upon his considerable expertise to help the couples find the land ... and then land the deal. His analysis of each individual property - as we poke our way through four properties each week - is a highlight of the show.
The Real Escapes team find the couple the options - narrow them down ... then we head off with the couples to inspect the properties - and hopefully do a deal - providing each episode with a clear beginning, middle and end.
Along the way we enjoy their journey - and poke our noses into some fantastic real estate opportunities doted around New Zealand the South Pacific.
We look at the very high end of the market, the middle and the lower end. We cater to anyone who has an inspirational desire to make a major change. We will screen test the couples and families to ensure we have eight bankable episodes.
The couples or families must be making significant lifestyle changes to make the show that much more interesting - and also have a clear goal in mind..
Each week our host meets the family and explores their goals and their realistic situation, mainly revolving around the money they have to spend, what they want and where they want to live. For example - a lifestyle block in Blenheim; a holiday home by the beach, maybe even an island in Fiji.
Our intrepid host then heads off in search of a parcel of potential properties. Once he has his catalogues the fun begins and the couples are called.
They are shown a dossier of six homes - they choose three for inspection and Michael chooses one. They inspect all the houses - and who knows hopefully they buy one of them.
We wrap by summarising the outcome - it may have occurred weeks later.
RUNDOWN
Part One
Host meets couple or family
We get to know them a bit - personality material.
Then we check out their goals and their wishes - where they want to go.
Then the tricky bit - they reveal their finances.
We use nice graphic packages throughout the show, first seen here to illustrate their position - and what they can afford.
Michael hits the phone, the net, his contacts and creates a dossier of properties.
We see him boarding a plane to do the inspections - and his final selection.
Part Two
Michael does a whirlwind inspection of his likely properties.
He rings the couple and tells them to come down. They fly down.
He shows them a choice of six properties. They choose 3 to view - and he chooses one.
They visit the first house - scope it out.
They visit the second house and check it out.
Part Three
They visit the third house.
The Michael reveals his choice and we visit that.
At the last house they have a conflab at the kitchen table. They may well make an offer.
We watch and see if an offer is made / accepted.
We summarise the outcome - and where our couple actually ended up.
