The Pretender - Season 2 - Due for Launch on TV One
Speaking of politics, Great Southern drama The Pretender is set to launch on TV One. The series flows the fortunes of our fake politician Dennis Plant, who occupies the fictional seat of Wakatipu South in the South Island.
In Series 2, Dennis played by Bob McLaren, has made it to parliament. He's quickly ousted from his party - and finds himself sitting as an independent.
But Dennis is a multi millionaire property developer and an entrepreneur, so he quickly forms a new party - Future New Zealand - and suddenly holds the balance of power ... and that is where the season begins.
