Show of Hands World Premiere - Awesome! See the pics ...

Great Southern's film Show of Hands held its world premiere on November 5, attended by lead actors Melanie Lynskey and Craig Hall.

It was a huge night for the people of New Plymouth - the event hogging the entire front page of the Taranaki Herald.

The event was also attended by Writer / Director Anthony McCarten - the entire cast - producers Angela Littlejohn and Rachel Gardner - and Rachel's Great Southern co-owners David Levene and Philip Smith.

For Melanie it was a major homecoming - and she didn't waste any time - catching up with her proud mum and dad, her sister and her local mates at the wonderful after party, hosted by Venture Taranaki.

Craig Hall, with partner Sarah Wiseman, also had a great night meeting locals (including New Zealand's best Mayor - he makes Tim Shadbolt look dull!).

So, the consensus on the film:

Well, if it was a Show of Hands, most people raised their hands to say it was a very strong piece, with some excellent twists - and top performances by the cast especially Mel and Craig - who really sizzle on screen.
