Rescue 1 launches to great ratings

Great Southern's latest factual show Rescue 1 is a hit for TV2 - finishing in the top five shows in New Zealand in just its second week. A tidy performance for a show that came together quickly.

Rescue 1 follows the exploits of the Westpac Rescue Chopper Crew in Auckland and without their co-operation the show wouldn't exist - so thanks to the team there, big time.

Eight episodes have been shot and are pretty much being turned around as they go to air - such was the deadline.

Produced by our factual team of Martin Cleave and Anna Geddes - the success follows on from their earlier project Million Dollar Catch.
