Great Southern Film in Toronto

Apron Strings, the first feature film release from Great Southern Films has been selected to screen at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Directed by Sima Urale and produced with Rachel Gardner, the movie has won strong critical praise since it launched the Auckland International Film Festival in late July. It has since gone on to screen at the Melbourne International Film Festival.

New Zealanders finally get a chance to see the film when it launches nationwide, via Rialto on August 14.

The movie is Urale's feature length debut.
